Cry the Beloved Country at the Harlem Cinema 1950

Alan Paton's book "Cry, the Beloved Country" was made into a film in 1950. The film was an attack on the extreme injustices caused by racism in South Africa. It premiered in anumber of alternative cinemas around the country, including the Harlem Cinema in Fordsburg, Johannesburg where the police was out in full force.
